History of Wooden Cross

The wooden cross hanging in the sanctuary of Grace at Riverside Baptist Church is the oldest known wooden cross in Blackfoot, approximately 100 years old. When it was removed from the old Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church on Fisher Street many years ago it was kept in storage. The cross was presented to Grace by Ron and Dottie Barrett and hangs as a focal point in our sanctuary. The crown of thorns was brought from the Holy Land by Max and Mary Martin and placed on the cross.
